And the big boss, he's put up some money for this and we're very excited, a massive announcement from the Federal Government today. We've got the man himself, our Prime Minister, Anthony Albanese, good morning.
With the eyes of the world on Brisbane, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk are delivering the important infrastructure that will be at the heart of the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games and leave an enduring Games legacy.
The Queensland Government will fund the $2.7 billion redevelopment of the Gabba while the Federal Government will provide $2.5 billion for the Brisbane Arena development. Sixteen new or upgraded venues will receive close to $1.87 billion in co-funding on a 50/50 basis between the two governments.
ANTHONY ALBANESE, PRIME MINISTER: This is a great day for Brisbane, a great day for Queensland, but a great day for Australia as well. This agreement of $7 billion shows what governments can do when they work together. And I've been working so closely with Annastacia and her team to get this done. When there was a change of government, it was very clear that there hadn't been any money actually allocated in the budget for federal infrastructure support for the Games here in Queensland.
ANTHONY ALBANESE PRIME MINISTER: Minister, can I welcome you, very much, back to Australia. You're a regular visitor here. And I, of course, am looking forward to being in India in just a few weeks' time now for the bilateral visit. And I thank Prime Minister Modi for the invitation. And then, of course, I will welcome the Quad Leaders meeting, including Prime Minister Modi, that we will be hosting here in just a short period of time in the first half of the year. And then, of course, there will be another visit for the G20 in the second half of the year.

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese will welcome the Prime Minister of the Republic of Vanuatu, the Honourable Alatoi Ishmael Kalsakau, and Madame Ellene Kalsakau to Australia from 14 - 16 February.
Australia and Vanuatu are strong partners based on a shared commitment to a prosperous, peaceful, resilient region.
This will be the first official visit to Australia by a Prime Minister of the Republic of Vanuatu since 2018.
