KARL STEFANOVIC, HOST: Australia has struck a significant defence deal this morning, launching a new missile pact with the US and Japan to combat China's military threats. And the Prime Minister joins us now live from Brisbane. PM, good morning to you. You've struck a deal on missiles with Japan. How's that all going to work?

LISA MILLAR, HOST: The Prime Minister, Anthony Albanese, is set to announce a plan to funnel taxpayer-funded incentives towards advanced manufacturing and clean energy projects, warning Australia risks being left behind. It's a major speech in Brisbane today that he's going to be delivering. He's going to make the case for a new law called the Future Made in Australia Act, which he argues will attract investment in critical industries. Let's go straight to the man himself. BARR: We know you're saying that nothing has changed with your policy. Peter Dutton says this is the most reckless act of a Foreign Minister in 20 years. Jewish groups are furious. They say, ‘We've got a war. This will reward Hamas’. Was it ill-timed, these statements?

And this morning, of course, we've been at Beacon Laundry at Bangalow.

ANTHONY ALBANESE, PRIME MINISTER: Today, I’m very pleased to advise that the Australian Government has recommended to his Excellency the Governor-General, a number of senior command changes within the Australian Defence Force. Subject to the Governor-General's consideration and approval, the changes will take effect in July of this year. Our Government is recommending that Vice-Admiral David Johnston be promoted to serve as the new Chief of the Defence Force.

The Australian Government is pleased to recommend to His Excellency, the Governor-General, a number of senior command changes within the Australian Defence Force (ADF). Subject to the Governor-General’s consideration and approval, the changes will take effect in July 2024.

JENNETT: After the deaths of Zomi Frankcom and six others, you appointed Mark Binskin to seek, “clear information and transparency around the circumstances of those killings". What details are missing from the IDF investigation so far released?

THOMAS ORITI, HOST: Australia's major supermarkets could be fined billions of dollars under a proposal from a former Labor Minister tasked with investigating the industry's dealings with suppliers. Dr. Craig Emerson's interim report recommends the Government to create a mandatory code with potentially massive financial penalties amid allegations the grocers are abusing their market power. Now, important to note, there's currently a voluntary code of conduct. Few issues though, the supermarkets themselves drafted it.
