Since launching my re-designed website, I have held a number of blogs. These online events are a dynamic and important mechanism to enable the Australian people to engage with the Government and get involved in strengthening the democratic process in Australia.
I now want to continue the dialogue via a series of live web chats. Future chat topics will be announced here, so keep an eye out for more information.
The web chats will be streamed live and all comments will be subject to moderation. The purpose of moderation is to ensure that the discussion does not include offensive or discriminatory language and to keep the discussion on topic.
Upcoming Web Chats

How participants are chosen
Up to 20 participants will be chosen to participate in each web chat session. These participants will be selected by an automated process from those who previously provided comments that were published to the PM's Blog.
If you have been invited to participate
If you have been selected to participate in the web chat, you will be sent an invitation via email.
To accept, simply type 'ACCEPT' in the subject field of the reply email and press send. If you cannot attend the web chat or wish to decline, there is nothing you need to do.
When we receive your acceptance, you'll get another email detailing how and when to access the chat.
Please note: this invitation is not transferable.
Moderation Policy
We welcome your participation in the Prime Minister's web chat. To ensure that your contribution meets legal requirements and the discussion stays on track, all comments will be moderated according to the Protocols for Participation set out below.
Chat comments that do not comply with these protocols will not be published and contributors will receive a message inviting them to resubmit their comments in a manner that complies with the protocols. Moderators will not edit comments. Contributions will only be moderated in accordance with the protocols.
Protocols for Participation
The intent of the Protocols for Participation is to create a positive environment where people are able to publicly contribute their views to the consultation forum, in the spirit of having input to government policy, without fear of abuse or harassment or exposure to offensive or otherwise inappropriate content and protecting the operators of the consultation forum from legal liability.
Help us to keep the conversation on topic, by being polite, constructive and respectful of others.
By registering and contributing to the web chat, you give permission for your comments to be posted on the site.
When contributing your views to the web chat, please ensure that you:
- do protect your personal privacy and that of others by not including personal information of either yourself or of others in your posts to the forum, (such as names, email addresses, private addresses or phone numbers);
